Susan J. Vitucci is a seasoned administrator with extensive experience in corporate communications, strategic planning, event production, proposal writing, and nonprofit administration. Her work with major New York City organizations includes 92Y, God’s Love We Deliver, DOROT, and the YMCA of Greater New York.
At 92Y Vitucci first served as theatre administrator of the Kaufmann Concert Hall, and later as executive assistant to 92Y’s executive director. She participated in 92Y’s first major strategic plan, wrote for its $40 million capital campaign, and was principal writer for the YMCA of Greater New York’s $50 million Capital Campaign for Kids. She also served as interim director of development for the Mountain Laurel Center for the Arts in Bushkill, PA.
She has written copy for DOROT, Manhattan School of Music, God’s Love We Deliver, and Theatre for a New Audience, and web content for FirstTeacher.com, ApronStyle.com and Pulcina.org, among others. Among her editing credits is 52 Pick-up: A Guide to Making Theater with Children by Willie Reale.
Vitucci has also produced conferences and special events for 92Y, ART/New York, Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, New York Women’s Agenda, Children’s Museum of Manhattan, and UJA/Federation of Jewish Philanthropies.
She is a New York Theatre Workshop Usual Suspect and an artist member of Ensemble Studio Theatre, where she also serves on the board, and is a member of the Playwrights Unit. She is librettist, puppet designer, and performer of Love’s Fowl, the puppet operetta (music by Henry Krieger), which she toured to Spoleto Festival USA and across the country. Vitucci and Krieger are currently collaborating on a new puppet operetta, Small Fish. Vitucci holds an MFA from Yale School of Drama.
